Clock House Farm is a family business set up in 1903, which is now being run by the fourth generation of farmers. Ultimately the plan is to continue the excellent work of previous generations and to continue to grow and develop the farm. While there are specific growth targets (10% growth year on year) in place, perhaps of more significance is the clear intention to ensure all activities align with the strong commitment to working hard to ensure the business aligns with the UK’s government pathway to net zero emissions by 2050. Clock House Farm is focused on becoming a market leader in providing low-carbon fruit and meeting customer expectations to reduce the emissions generated by its farming operations.

In addition, Clock House Farm has clear ambitions to extend the growing season of berries (blackberry, raspberry, blueberry and strawberry) grown in the UK to reduce the reliance on imported fruit and improve food security. The farm has increased its glasshouse production, using renewable green energy derived from the innovative river source heat pump based at its Gooselands site. As growers extending the season is imperative to Clock House Farm’s – and other British growers’ – success by enabling an extended selling window. Ultimately this means more access to the fantastic soft fruit grown in the Garden of England.
