Detling Community Store

We are a community store, run for the community by the community.

We are volunteer based with one paid store manager and one paid assistant, who help guide with training and running of the store we have around 25 volunteers. We offer a free delivery service to residents in the village and extend this offer further afield where possible for any vulnerable customers, we also offer free delivery twice a day to a local camp site.

We hold a coffee morning in store once a month for people to come along and socialise, make new friends and have a warm hub, we have a coffee shop in store at all opening times where people can come and enjoy a coffee and always a friendly ear to chat to, we are a not for profit community hub. We are lucky enough to currently be offering out free essential food parcels to people in need in the local area, we are currently providing around 10 parcels a week to a wide variety of people all over the Maidstone area.
We collect food for a local homeless charity and have previously had our 'giving window' where we raised and supplied over 200 presents for Christmas for local vulnerable children. We also have things like a free notice board, a free little library on site all free for the community to use. We give back anyway we can.
