I have farmed near Hythe for over 50 years. Initially I managed the mixed 1000acre Monks Horton Estate. For the latter 20 years I ran about 2500 acres for three different landowners. Kent County Chairman NFU 1996/7. I have chaired the Kent Downs National landscape for the past 24 years.
Any farmer or grower who runs a successful and profitable business should be sufficiently proud to enter this competition and be recognised. As a judge, I am after a vibrant business which is not just performing week now and utilising all their assets to full potential, but also has a vision for the next few years.
