This category is open to a wide range of products including flour, oils, sauces, rubs, savoury condiments, chutneys, pickles and pastes. If it lives in the cupboard and adds flavour to a meal, this is the category for you.

How will this category be judged? Every entry is blind taste tested by a panel of expert judges drawn from across the food and drink sector, including chefs, buyers and food writers - and every entrant receives feedback from the panel.

How much does it cost to enter? Entry fees are £30 for Produced in Kent members and £50 for non-members.

Judging criteria: Appearance, use of locally sourced ingredients, texture, taste, innovation and relevance to market.
